The biggest stakeholders in the Middle East’s aviation and tourism sectors will come together in Bahrain to discuss the future of the region’s travel industry at the Arab Aviation and Media Summit (AAMS) Dec. 7 and Dec. 8.
Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed will kick off the annual summit in the Bahraini capital of Manama.
This is the fifth Arab Aviation and Media Summit, which offers members of the media access to top names in a cross-section the region’s aviation and tourism industries. The event also draws governmental offices and NGOs that are committed to growing the Middle East’s travel sector.
This year’s conference focuses on untapped opportunities to shape the future of tourism and aviation in the region, including themes of attracting tourism during difficult political and economic climates, opening up the region’s travel sector to foreign investors and prioritizing private sector investment in the industry.
Mohammed said the sector’s rapid growth presents both new possibilities and challenges that the media will be keen to learn more about.
“The Arab world’s aviation and tourism sectors are changing rapidly and [AAMS] has enabled industry experts to come together to discuss and debate the significant opportunities and challenges faced by the sector,” Mohammed said. “We highly encourage such discussions and are proud to be the host to this year’s Arab Aviation and Media Summit.”
