The assessment of participants for the first category of the Abu Dhabi Awards for Excellence in Government Performance has been completed, and winners will be announced and honored during a Nov. 17 ceremony.
Overseen by the Abu Dhabi Excellence Program (ADEP), the awards had more than 300 applications from 51 entities.
The awards are open to both individuals and institutions.
"Since the launch of the fourth session of the award by the end of last year, we have sensed the desire of the participating entities to move towards the development of their performance as well as improvement of their institutional work system and compete with other entities so as to achieve excellence," Yasir Ahmed Alnaqbi, ADEP director, said.
After the winners are announced, they will submit progress reports to the ADEP and develop improvement plans to ensure continued development.
ADEP has put a campaign in place to promote the awards as well as to educate prospective applicants about the awards' objectives.
An award for Excellence at the Level of the Abu Dhabi Government will presented to the entity that achieves the highest performance levels overall.
