Dubai Chamber touts Sheikh Mohammed's Smart Majlis at African business forum

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry was on hand at the third Africa Global Business Forum (AGBF) in Dubai last week to tout the emirate’s new Smart Majlis initiative.

The Smart Majlis takes the concept of a council and uses technology to give all Dubai residents a voice in developing the emirate’s future. Smart Majlis is an initiative of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and emir of Dubai.

He kicked off the platform as a way to give Dubai residents and people around the world the chance to pitch innovative ideas and feedback for improving the quality of life in Dubai. Smart Mijlis also furthers the leader’s vision of making Dubai one of the most technologically advanced in the world.

The Smart Mijlis platform lets residents, visitors and anyone else interested in Dubai to promote and debate new ideas. Those suggestions will be considered by the government and acted on if there’s a possibility of furthering Dubai’s development goals.

Dubai Chamber staff members made an appearance at the AGBF to explain the purpose of the Smart Majlis to forum participants. They also highlighted how the initiative can promote and develop Dubai’s business environment.
