The Citi Prestige credit card was recently introduced to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is being aimed at the country's wealthy residents.
The card, already offered in 11 other countries, includes offerings such as unlimited access to more than 500 airport lounges throughout the world, exclusive hotel memberships and discounts on car rentals.
“Citi Prestige is our global card designed for the affluent global citizen which includes lifestyle and travel benefits tailored for the UAE market and goes beyond being a financial tool,” Dinesh Sharma, Citi's consumer banking head in the Middle East, said. “Citi Prestige clients can take advantage of premium benefits and services, and exclusive experiences, at home and wherever they travel around the world.”
Citi UAE's launch of the Citi Prestige Card comes in conjunction with a qualitative report by Citi UAE and Nielsen in which high net worth individuals in the UAE revealed that they prefer credit cards that give differentiated experiences and privileges reflecting their global lifestyle.
“Need benchmarks of the affluent segment consumer are based on their varied global experience," Deepak Bengani, associate director and FFS lead at Nielsen, said. "A credit card is not just an instrument to get credit for consumers. They desire a card that provides access for themselves and their families to live an exclusive lifestyle and enjoy unique experiences around the world without any borders.”
