Saudi-Bahraini Business Council tours Dammam industrial centers

Saudi and Bahraini business leaders are looking into ways to increase investments on Saudi Arabia’s east coast.

A group of business leaders from the Saudi-Bahraini Business Council (SBBC) were recently in Dammam to look into new business opportunities across a number of the region’s sectors. Dammam is the closest major Saudi city to the Kingdom of Bahrain, which lies just offshore from Saudi Arabia’s eastern coastline.

SBBC members visited numerous industrial and business sites in the search for new investments. The representatives looked at several factories and manufacturing facilities during a visit to Dammam Industrial City 2 and 3.

The Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON), which oversees the industrial centers, briefed SBBC members on MODON’s achievements in developing the industrial cities and bringing investors to the region.

Abdulrahman Al Otaishan, SBBC's Saudi chairman, said the two nations are in the midst of a joint effort to increase the cooperation between their business and industrial communities. That vision, he said, is shared by both Saudi and Bahraini stakeholders.

The joint visit to Dammam presented an opportunity for both countries to look into what factors lead to success in the region’s industries. SBBC members had the opportunity to explore and discuss potential investments in those sectors, which will inevitably increase trade between the two kingdoms.
