Oman economic delegation seeks to strengthen ties with Bahrain

The Kingdom of Bahrain and Sultanate of Oman are working to develop stronger business ties with a delegation of Omani economic officials recently visiting the Bahrain Investors Center (BIC).

Oman’s delegation was led by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Ahmed Hassan, and e-government CEO Salim Alzoreiky. The visit to the BIC was intended to highlight the sectors where the two Gulf nations can find common investments.

Hassan and Alzoreiky said they admired the BIC’s operations and facilities, which they said were major tools for enhancing Bahrain’s economic growth.

The Omani officials were greeted at the BIC by Bahrain Undersecretary of Commerce Affairs Nader Al Moayyed, Assistant Undersecretary of Domestic Trade Hameed Rahma and BIC Chief Bader Alsaad.

Moayyed took the meeting as an opportunity to point out that the government of Bahrain is continuously seeking new ways to help investors from both inside and outside Bahrain. The government does that by providing good facilities for investors, such as the BIC, and by helping foreign investors overcome difficulties with starting businesses in the kingdom, Moayyed said.

Bahrain has also been developing electronic applications to help the government to create a more attractive investment environment in the nation.

Oman’s economic team said they were impressed with Bahrain’s growing reputation as a good investment destination. They also said the admired Bahrain’s development measures in the finance, business, commercial and industrial sectors.
