Saudi Total appointed Hisham Atalla to general manager for operations in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Total is a joint venture of the Jeddah-based industrial conglomerate Zahid Group and the international oil and gas company Total.
Atalla brings more than 20 years of oil and gas industry experience to his new role at the head of the joint venture company.
Atalla holds a degree in architecture and engineering from Cairo University. He joined Total Egypt in 1998 and has filled various roles for Total’s various Middle Eastern operations. Atalla has worked in sales, operations and as a member senior management.
Atalla also did a stint at Total’s global headquarters in Paris, which gave him a look at the company’s operations and objectives from the top down. From there, he was chosen to oversee the process of starting a new Total affiliate in Jordan.
Atalla said he looks forward to taking the helm in Saudi Arabia.
“I am excited to join the Saudi Total team and to work with Zahid Group, a close partner of Total,” Atalla said. “Together we will continue the journey of establishing Total as the preferred brand in the market.”
Atalla replaces General Manager Nizar Raydan, who has taken up a position in Total’s Geneva, Switzerland, facility.
