The Bahrain International Air Show’s official sponsor, Batelco, recently signed a deal to make Chinese telecom company Huawei the air show’s technology strategic partner.
As the leading telecommunications providers in their respective nations, Bahrain’s Batelco and Huawei have collaborated on several projects in recent years. The collaborative relationship and Huawei’s position as a leading information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider make for a strong tech partnership for the Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS 2016) in January.
The two companies also collaborated for the 2014 air show, with Huawei providing ultra-broadband technology around the entire air show site.
Batelco Chairman Shaikh Hamad Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa inked the deal with Huawei Account Manager for Batelco Group Wang Jiangning. The meeting in
Hamala
also drew Batelco Bahrain CEO Muna Al Hashemi and the Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong.
Al Hashemi said Batelco is glad to be working alongside Huawei again to orchestrate the international air show.
“Hosting an event of such major significance is very important to the economy of Bahrain as it attracts large numbers of business visitors from the region and further afield,” Al Hashemi said. “We have been very impressed with the previous events and look forward to participating once again.”
