The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will be serving as a strategic partner for the International Women’s Forum Dubai (IWFD), which will be held in February.
This forum will be focused on innovation: DEWA intends to showcase developments in sustainable energy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The company will also have representation during the Discover exhibition, which will feature displays of innovative ideas and technology.
“We are proud to support the first Women’s Forum event to take place in the Middle East and North Africa,” DEWA CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said. “DEWA is a strong believer in the important role that women have been playing in the development of the UAE’s economy since the establishment of the United Arab Emirates. ... DEWA employs 1,610 female staff across all divisions. The number includes 525 in engineering and technical domains. Seventy-seven percent of the total female workforce in DEWA are Emiratis.”
The forum will be taking place between Tuesday, Feb. 23, and Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.
DEWA states that this sponsorship is one among many efforts to empower women in the UAE in multiple arenas. The company has also organized related events and initiatives on a regular basis.
