Bank Nizwa was named the "Best Performing Islamic Bank in Oman" during the 22nd Annual World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC) held earlier this month.
The award recognized the bank for achieving excellence in financial stability, financial performance, governance and social responsibility. It was one of 18 awards given to best-performing Islamic banks and financial institutions from around the world.
“It is an honor to receive such an esteemed award that is assessed according to the renowned ICD Thomson Reuters Islamic Finance Development Indicator and Bankscope," Bank Nizwa CEO Jamil El Jaroudi said. "This win is another respected achievement for Bank Nizwa that demonstrates the determined efforts of the entire team to innovate and drive our growth, as well as that of Islamic finance in Oman.”
The bank has received three other honors this year including being named the "Strongest Islamic Retail Bank in Oman" at the World Islamic Retail Banking Conference. It was also acknowledged as the "Best Islamic Bank in Oman" at the Islamic Finance Awards and for having the "Best Employee Retention & Motivation Program" at the Middle East Call Center Awards.
The WIBC is the largest and most influential gathering of international Islamic banking and finance leaders in the world. The conference involved discussions on the trends shaping the global finance services industry.
