Waste management company averda signs 5-year contract with Kingdom of Bahrain

Averda, the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) largest waste management company, entered into a five-year service partnership with Bahrain last week.

Under the terms of the contract, averda will provide the kingdom with various waste management and eco-friendly services.

"We are proud to add Bahrain to our list of partners in the GCC that already includes United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar," averda Chairman Maysarah Sukkar said. "We utilize the latest technology and innovation in customer service and are committed to engaging and giving value to the communities in which we work.”

Sustainable services are an important part of the contract as Bahrain has a five-year environmental protection plan, the goal of which is to attract tourists with a clean, safe environment.

"As a socially responsible organization, we have plans that include a program to raise awareness of the importance of recycling, while at the same time offering employment opportunities to Bahrainis in a range of disciplines," Sukkar said. "We believe this partnership is a testimony to our international reputation as providers of cost effective, efficient and sustainable solutions, and we look forward to working closely with the government of Bahrain and contributing positively to their environmental plans."
