International finance hub Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on food safety measures.
The measures will include new health standards and requirements for food establishments associated with hotels and independent businesses, in addition to guidelines for keeping standard permits and licenses.
"This collaboration serves to enhance the infrastructure under ADGM jurisdiction and enables companies and professionals to enjoy greater ease of doing business on Al Maryah Island," ADGM Registration Authority CEO Dhaher Bin Dhaher Almheiri said. "Partnerships with like-minded and onshore authorities, such as ADFCA, are part of our ongoing commitment to create a one-stop-shop platform on the financial free zone for companies and professionals to efficiently establish, operate and grow their businesses."
Almheiri and ADFCA Control Sector Executive Director Mouza Suhail Mohammed Al Muhairi signed the memorandum.
ADGM does business on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi. The island is a 281-acre mixed-use development that includes residential, retail, leisure and hotel businesses.
"As an international financial center, ADGM will play its part to support local and international businesses and together, contribute towards the success and growth of the Abu Dhabi economy," Almheiri said.
