Shell Oman unveils interface screens at three gas stations

Shell Oman said Monday that it will install customer interface screens (CIS) at its Shell North Azaiba, Mina Al Fahal and Mawaleh South service stations.

The screens will broadcast high-definition content from Shell and other sources to drivers while they pump gas. The screens will also display fuel information, transaction information and advertising.

"We are happy to launch this differentiator to make visits to Shell stations more exciting," Country Manager for Retail Mohammed bin Mahmood Al-Balushi said. "While the CIS screens will add to our existing customer experience, we will continue investing in our customer service programs also. The human connect that our forecourt staff provides is vital to make the customers feel really welcome."

The screens are the first of their kind for any Shell station in the region. Company officials said they expect to gradually install the screens at more stations.

The systems were designed by Omani company Eyecomms. Eyecomms officials lauded their machines as a new frontier in marketing, providing companies 24/7 access to a broad market.
