Qatar Power Engineering and Contracting (QPEC), which handles a wide variety of electrical services projects, announced recently it has earned a new certification that will guide its occupational health and safety practices.
The OHSAS 18001 certification represents the first part of an international standard designed by Occupational Health and Safety Advisory Services to help organizations control safety risks posed to their workers. The program also helps companies understand the liabilities businesses carry by not adequately protecting their workers.
Worker safety is important for companies like QPEC, whose work often involves dangerous construction sites.
QPEC earned the certification with the help of Infomatics Consultancy. Infomatics is a consulting firm specializing in ISO certification consulting, marketing services and overall business management consultation. Infomatics works with clients toward these ends across the Middle East and North Africa.
QPEC electrical services include street light installation, substation installation, cable excavation, cable laying, industrial systems, commercial lighting, jointing and panel fittings.
