Mohammed Ibrahim Al Subeaei & Sons Investment Company (MASIC) has been tapped to manage the new Swissotel Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia.
The Switzerland-based
Swissotel Hotels & Resorts, an offshoot of FRHI Hotels & Resorts of Ontario, Canada, has entered into an agreement to have MASIC representatives oversee the day-to-day operations of the new, 180-room hotel being built in the MASIC Business Park development.
"Continuing our pipeline growth in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a key focus for our world-leading luxury hotel brands," FRHI Senior Vice President of Operations for the Middle East, Africa and India
Sami Nasser said. "Since our debut in the region over five years ago with our multibranded hotel complex in Makkah, our brands have been well positioned to appeal to both business and religious tourism in this increasing sophisticated travel market."
Swissotel Al Khobar will also feature 14,000 square feet of meeting and conference rooms as well as a rooftop pool, two restaurants, Swissotel's signature Purovel Spa & Sport fitness center and 20 luxury residential apartments.
When it opens in 2019, Swissotel Khobar will become the eighth hotel FRHI operates in Saudi Arabia. Over the next five years Swissotel locations are slated to open in such locations as the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and India.
MASIC is also the project's developer.
"MASIC is proud to join forces with FRHI to develop the first Swissotel in the Eastern Province" MASIC CEO Ihsan Bafakih said. "We believe that MASIC Business Park and the addition of Swissotel will form an impressive environment for living, working and leisure and will hopefully be a landmark that our clients and tenants will enjoy."
