Sultan Telecom was one of several companies showing off their wares between Dec. 8 and 10 at the third Gulf Defense and Aerospace Exhibition, held at the International Fairgrounds in Kuwait.
The event was coordinated through the Ministry of Defense.
Sultan Telecom and its partner OPTOKON were specifically highlighting its internal communications technologies designed for military use. The company's executives said the exhibition gave them an opportunity to connect with industries that will allow it to continue its commitment to building Kuwaiti infrastructure.
"Our company's participation in the Gulf exhibition of defense and aviation is a strategic step for our company to serve a vital sector of this region," Chairman and Group Managing Director Ayman Sultan said. "Our participation in such exhibitions will increase our experiences and information of the company. Sultan Telecom, since its inception, has been one of the first companies that has contributed to the development and construction of the infrastructure for the State of Kuwait. We have participated in the development projects for most ministries, and we supply the latest technology in the field of telecommunications and information technology."
Sultan Telecom is particularly interested in promoting a special type of fiber-optic cable network it claims can withstand very tight security constraints, such as those used by the military. In addition to self-reporting hacking and other types of system interference, the cables themselves are able to detect motion and can report the shape and body weight of the object on top of them through thermal imagery displayed on the system's monitor.
Sultan Telecom officials said participating in exhibitions like the Gulf Defense and Aerospace Exhibition is a basic way for the company to diversify its activities and expand its regional business network.
Sultan telecom is a Kuwait-based company that uses the subsidiaries ArabianITS, ATCO and Horizon Telecom to offer internal and external communications technology, network security for the financial sector and low-voltage solutions to customers across the region.
