Qatargas recently celebrated seven years of operation at its liquid natural gas storage and loading facilities without any serious injuries to workers.

Since opening on Dec 31, 2008, the Common Lean LNG storage and loading facilities have recorded no lost time incidents, defined as injuries or other incidents that force workers to miss paid production time.

“This is a moment of great pride for all of us at Qatargas," Qatargas CEO Khalid Bin Khalifa Al-Thani said. "This unique safety milestone is further enhanced by a record 693 ship loadings in 2015, and an overall JBOG (jetty boil-off gas) recovery of nearly 90 percent. All these are the result of the company’s continuous commitment to safety by the leadership and workforce alike and adopting an integrated approach to safety that involves working in a cooperative manner to ensure the health and safety of all employees.”

The company has also navigated 13 years of operation at its offshore facilities without any lost time incidents.

Company officials credited the vigilance and skill of its workers for its culture of workplace safety, as well as its incident and injury Free program.
