Water Planet and Applied Membranes are joining forces to work on a water filtration contract.

Water Plant and Applied Membranes recently announced a new agreement that will pair Applied Membrane's standardized designs with Water Planet's trademarked management controls to produce integrated water filtration systems.

The companies will work together to market, sell and service reverse osmosis and nanofiltration water systems.

"I am very excited about the opportunity to work with the talented team at Water Planet," Applied Membranes Founder and CEO Dr. Gil Dhawan said. "Our companies complement each other, and I've enjoyed working with the Water Planet team to combine their membrane technology innovations with our 32 years of experience designing, manufacturing and delivering membrane based water treatment systems."

Water Planet brings its IntelliFlux self-adaptive flux management controls technology to the table, which it believes will make the final filtration system more reliable and affordable. Applied Membranes specializes in membranes and other components for reverse osmosis systems. The company's representatives have installed more than 10,000 commercial and industrial systems worldwide.

The new joint venture's first contract will be a job with Kuwait Oil Company that will develop an integrated reverse osmosis membrane system to filter groundwater for use in oil production.

"This collaboration leverages the strengths of Applied Membranes and Water Planet to deliver a robust water treatment solution to an important customer," Water Planet CEO Eric Hoek said. "Applied Membranes is recognized worldwide for its technical expertise, high quality products and excellent service -- and is an ideal partner for us."
