Interactive workshops to ignite interest and encourage technical solutions in drones and robotics among university students in the United Arab Emirates were organized by The Assembly and held during the UAE Drones for Good Award and UAE AI & Robotics Award for Good events Feb. 4-6 at Dubai Internet City.

"As a leading center for innovation, the UAE offers the most effective platforms to employ the best practices in drones and robotics technology to improve the life of people,” Dubai Museum of the Future Foundation CEO Saif Al Aleeli, coordinator general of the UAE Drones for Good Award and UAE AI & Robotics Award for Good said.

Two workshops organized by The Assembly, a Dubai-based smart lab initiative, were held each day during the awards event.

Day one of the workshops focused on drone technology with the second day narrowing in on the robotics sector.

Manager of Innovation and Development in Learning at the Higher Colleges of Technology Danny Munnerley and other distinguished academics led the workshops with technology based teachings to help enhance awareness about aircrafts and robotics.

“The workshops by The Assembly will contribute to the exchange of experiences and knowledge in these sectors and help enhance awareness about their importance in the efficient delivery of services in the coming years," Al Aleeli said.

The goal of The Assembly is to enable the drones and robotics community to share knowledge, build a smarter city through improved cognizance and build real solutions to problems the community faces. Outreach and access to the latest in innovative technology allows The Assembly to empower the individuals who desire to better their communities through good use of drones and robotics.

“We are happy to be part of such distinguished and high-profile international events as the UAE Drones for Good Award and the UAE AI & Robotics Award for Good, which represent the UAE's futuristic vision to apply next generation technologies for the good of humanity,” The Assemb;y Founder Prashant PK Gulati said.

The goal of the UAE Drones for Good Award is to improve the lives of people by capturing the expertise in using unmanned aircrafts.

“The interactive workshops will get the young students connected to what is happening at the awards event and introduce them to the latest techniques in drones and robotics,” Gulati said.
