Ohood Al Roumi, director general of the UAE prime minister’s office, welcomed the participation of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry at this week's fourth World Government Summit held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE's vice president and prime minister and ruler of Dubai.
Al Roumi, deputy chairperson of the Organizing Committee of the Government Summit, acknowledged that the chamber characterizes the solid relationship between the public and private. She also noted that the chamber backs the UAE and Dubai, particularly, as an international epicenter for trade and finance.
The summit aims to bring together local, regional and global innovation experts as well as those with successful experiences from the World Bank, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the World Economic Forum to voice and encourage actions that lead to success.
The focus of the event is to assist governments and communities to stand up to the challenges of modernization in applied sciences, education, health care and sustainability.
Dubai Chamber President and CEO Hamad Buamim said the existence of the summit itself speaks to the UAE government’s efforts to teach communities about the different aspects of economic and social life. Buamim said that the effort to connect innovation and technology among people and traders is just one example of the public-private sector connection the chamber has with the community.
Not only is the summit a place for government officials and members of the chamber to share ideas about technology, but it is also a platform for networking among policy creators and human development experts, Buamim said. The chamber benefits by engaging with government officials, establishing a rapport with the policy makers and using that strategic connection to develop and utilize the best global business practices.
