The Arabia CSR Network recently kicked off the ninth cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards.
The awards recognize companies that demonstrate a commitment toward corporate responsibility, social accountability and sustainability.
“The Arabia CSR Awards are seen as the Arab region’s own benchmark in CSR (corporate social responsibility)and sustainability," Arabia CSR Network President and CEO Habiba Al Marashi said. "We hope this year we will be able to overreach the targets set for the awards and bring in more Arab countries within its fold through strengthened collaboration and targeted messages to organizations in our region."
Nominees are judged on criteria taken from global and regional standards and frameworks such as the UN Global Compact Ten Principles and the EFQM Excellence Model.
The Arabia CSR Network has received more than 880 applications from 13 Arab countries across 26 sectors. The awards are supported by the League of Arab States, the United Nations a Global Compact and United Nations Environment Program.
The eighth cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards gave out 20 accolades in the categories of public sector, large-size enterprise, medium-size business, small-size business, energy, financial services, best new business, social enterprise and partnerships and collaboration.
