Qatar-based telecom company Ooredoo has entered into a deal to provide Al Raffd Fund's Sanad Service Centers across Oman with enhanced Internet services.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) represents Ooredoo's commitment to support the growth and development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the sultanate.

"SMEs make up almost 90 percent of Oman's burgeoning business sector, making it vital that we provide them with the products, services and support they need to continue to thrive and support the nation's development," Ooredoo CEO Greg Young said. "With that in mind, we developed two special packages to help the Sanad Service Centers increase their productivity, efficiency and effectiveness as they continue supporting Al Raffd Fund and other SMEs throughout Oman."

The Al Raffd Fund was created in 2013 to help young individuals in Oman develop small- and medium-size projects. As part of the MoU, the fund's centers will have access to faster and more reliable Internet connections, as well as numerous other cost-effective business services.

"Ooredoo's high-value business products and services are perfectly suited to providing our centers with the technical capabilities they need to continue operating at the highest performance levels," Al Raffd CEO Tariq Al Farsi said. "Agreements like these are important for SMEs in Oman to receive the support they need and through them, the sector will continue leading the way in Oman's economic development."
