Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, said it will add four new afternoon flights each week to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh beginning Thursday.
Gulf Air will increase flights between Bahrain International Airport and Riyadh from 28 per week to 32. The expansion in flights follows a recent increase in the carrier's Jeddah service, to four daily flights.
“Today, Gulf Air operates direct flights to five destinations within the kingdom of Saudi Arabia: Dammam, Riyadh, Madina Al Munawarah, Jeddah and Gassim,” Gulf Air A/Chief Commercial Officer Ahmed Janahi said. “The airline has had a presence in the kingdom since 1950, when Gulf Air was first established. With a strong presence in this market dating back to 1950 (when Gulf Air launched its Dammam operations) and 1983 (when Gulf Air launched its Riyadh and Jeddah operations) we are delighted to provide superior travel solutions that cater to the travel needs of our Saudi passengers.”
Gulf Air's four additional afternoon flights per week between Bahrain and Riyadh are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing Bahrain at 1:45 p.m., arriving in Riyadh at 3 p.m. Reverse flights are offered the same days with flights departing Riyadh at 4 p.m. and landing in Bahrain at 5:10 p.m.
“The enhanced Gulf Air service gives travelers an additional afternoon flight, supplementing our existing, multiple daily schedule,” Janahi said. “This not only helps us further satisfy passenger need but also creates improved connections for those passengers connecting to and from Gulf Air's network of onwards destinations across the globe.”
