Leaders with Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU), part of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), recently received 15 different research grants.
These grants are part of honoring World Water Day. The funds come from Qatar National Research Fund and its National Priorities Research program.
Three of the grants went to the College of Science and Engineering (CSE). Eleven grants were donated to Qatar Environment and Research Institute (QEERI), and the remaining grant went to Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI).
“At HBKU, we are committed to building Qatar's national research capabilities and propelling Qatar's knowledge-based economy,” Khaled Letaief, provost of HBKU, said.
In addition, some scientists at Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) and QEERI earned awards in recognition of their poster presentations.
“ARC provides an excellent platform for researchers to come together to exchange ideas and discuss how to best tackle challenges faced by Qatar, the region and the wider world,” Letaief said. “I'm pleased to have so many of my colleagues from the university and its research institutes at the conference, but am even more proud to see that they are not only sharing insights from their own work, but also taking a leadership role in guiding these larger, crucial conversations.”
