A leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and maintenance contractor in Qatar has named Dubai-based 3W Networks as telecom and security systems integrator for an industrial water management project (IWMP) in Ras Laffan Industrial City, approximately 50 miles north of Doha.
The purpose of the project is to increase the internal reuse of wastewater by treating the water that comes from the sulphur recovery units (SRUs), boiler blow downs and the sewer and then recycling that water to be used for irrigation. The project will also reduce the amount of wastewater currently being pumped into the deep wells.
“Water management is an increasingly important issue in the oil and gas industry,” 3W Networks CEO Walid Gamali said. “As an ISO Certified company, we are pleased to be a part of a distinctive environmental initiative project and deliver our telecom and security solutions expertise to the water management facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar. It is always our top priority to follow the stringent standards of our clients for such complex projects and contribute positively to the environment.”
The project will include engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of IWMP. 3W Networks collaborated with leading companies within the telecom sector to ensure the delivery of the best telecom and security systems including telephone, LAN, PAGA and CCTV systems needed by the end-user to create an environmentally friendly wastewater treatment unit.
