Al Meera Consumer Goods Company recently signed deals with two contractors to build six new stores in Qatar.
The retailer has chosen Al Muftah Contracting Company to construct four of the shopping centers while Al Khayarin Group Contracting and Trading will create the other two. The shopping centers will located in Al Khor, Azghawa, Leabaib, Rawdat Aba El Heran, Saileya and Umm Qarn.
"We are excited to venture into this new partnership with Al Khayarin Group Contracting and Trading and Al Muftah Contracting Company," Al Meera Deputy CEO Mohammed Nasser Al Qahtani said. "We are confident that this collaboration will establish highly developed Al Meera stores that are equipped with world-class technologies and solutions, and will continue to serve customers in different areas of the country, through the excellence of our people and our innovative approach."
The six Al Meera stores are part of 14 new ones planned to reach 55 branches by 2018. Besides the six new stores being developed, stores are planned to be located in the western area of Al Wakra, Bu Sidra, Sailiya North (Al Miarad) and Um Slal Ali.
"Our expansion plans are a result of a well-researched strategy to march with Qatar's urban plans, as well as to drive the company's future growth," Qahtani said.
