The second day of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM 2016) at the Dubai International Convention Center featured lengthy discussions involving opportunities and the potential of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in viable industries.
Presiding over AIM 2016 is Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum, prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.
The discussions revolved around the flow of FDI into markets that are both developed and currently in development. Those who participated in the discussions agreed that an increased level of FDI had been flowing into developing countries. In the late 1990s, those involved were in favor of countries that were already developed.
Presentations by experts on economics, senior officials and decision makers during the course of AIM 2016 have shed more light on FDI trends. These presentations are taking place in workshops at the event.
AIM 2016 provides an ideal platform where discussions can take place on the effectiveness of investment policies and give insight on difficulties faced by the global investment industry. The delegates also use the platform to discuss the potential, monitoring, development and the enhancement of the UAE’s role in investment policies and their development.
