The Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX 2016), a four-day event that took place in the Ethiopian capital Addis Abbaba, ended this week after enjoying considerable success.
The first three days of OPEX 2016 saw Ethiopian business owners, traders and investors turn out at an exponential rate to work out and agree upon import and export deals. Commercial agency agreements were also agreed on for a group of participating companies.
Abay Tsehaye, special advisor to the Ethiopian prime minister, was in attendance and met with OPEX Organizing Committee members during his time at the exhibition. The topic of conversation during the meetings with Tsehaye was Omani products and their ability to compete in overseas markets. Tsehaye praised the Omani government for the steps it has taken in boosting and developing the industrial sector, especially related to the impact it has had on the gross domestic product.
OPEX 2016 is the fifth OPEX event with more than 100 companies taking part this year. The previous four events, held in GCC countries, also had success due to the emphasis put on Omani products in these markets.
