The Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), an initiative of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recently sponsored a seminar titled “The Role of Arbitration in Settling Disputes” for Kuwaiti lawyers at Dubai’s Millennium Plaza Hotel.
The training session emphasized commercial arbitration on a global scale and its impact on resolving trade disagreements and covered such topics as oversight, personnel, venue selection, professional fees, alternative solutions and recognizing variations among different legal systems.
DIAC Chairman Habib Al Mulla and DIAC Executive Committee Chairman Tarek Fouad Riad supervised the seminar, which was led by
Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Director of Legal Affairs Shaaban Raafat Abdellatif, Fenwick Elliott LLP - Middle East Partner Ahmed Ibrahim and Mansouri Arbitration Managing Partner in Egypt Ahmed Al Mansouri.
Al Mulla said DIAC observes international rules, adhering to the highest standards and staying updated on changes in dispute resolution trends across different industries.
Riad stressed the advantages of carrying the knowledge gained in the session into Dubai’s business environment.
Seminar attendees were presented with certificates of completion by Al Mulla.
