For the very first time, Emirati students will take part in Citizen Science, a new mobile platform that was designed to invigorate passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers.

The platform is set up to give students the necessary skills to solve difficulties facing the world over the next 50 years and beyond.

The Digital Innovation in Education event is being hosted by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) in collaboration with EY and Tribal Planet. The event will be held on April 25 in Abu Dhabi at the Mubarak bin Mohammed School. The goal of Citizen Science is to connect young people from around the world. The event will include digital content, experiments and challenges that have been developed by globally renowned education and scientific institutions. These features are designed to spur excitement amongst young people regarding the STEM principles.

Leaders from the government, education and businesses representing the United Arab Emirates will be in attendance. World renowned scientists and digital visionaries will also be at the event. Keynote speakers will include Stephen Farrell, Senior Partner, EY MENA, Jeff Martin, Founder and CEO, Tribal Planet, and Scott Kelly, United States astronaut, who is the longest serving astronaut on the International Space Station.
