The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognized more than 60 support staff members Sunday, International Workers’ Day, for their work which is mostly completed behind the scenes and gets little praise.

Monetary gifts were presented to the cleaners, security workers, waiters, gardeners and technicians who serve the chamber and its facilities to provide a healthy, safe and clean eco-friendly work environment. For the eighth consecutive year, Dubai chamber President and CEO Hamad Buamim presented the financial gifts during a special ceremony.

The recognition of the employees, along with the gifts, are part of the chamber’s desire to practice corporate social responsibility and outwardly show its dedication to all staff, no matter the type of work completed, Buamim said. The ceremony is also part of the chamber’s strategic plan to develop Dubai as a business hub for global partners.

The staff accepting the gifts praised the chamber’s efforts to recognize all workers and noted that the ceremony was a motivating factor as well as a humanitarian effort to instill dedication to keeping the chamber strong and representing shareholders in a positive way.
