Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation Empower, the world's largest district cooling services provider, has started operations at its third Business Bay district cooling plant.

"The new plant is a world-class model in district cooling industry," Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said. "It reflects our commitment in adhering to highest sustainability standards and ensuring availability and efficiency."

Bin Shafar believes the resulting rapid increase in the company's customer base will improve performance at large.

"We are moving at a steady pace in acquiring a larger share of the district cooling sector in Dubai," he said. "We also contribute in introducing new technologies in line with the orientations of the government of Dubai in environmental sustainability."

The new plant will power commercial and residential buildings. Construction on this plant took 12 months to complete.

"Empower's network of district cooling plants covers the vital Business Bay area, so we ensured the highest efficiency and availability around the clock to achieve customer satisfaction in residential and commercial facilities," Bin Shafar said. "The new plant represents the utmost efficiency in district cooling we have ever presented. It ensures reduced energy consumption for cooling operations, adopts sustainable technology of TSE and applies a standard distribution technology that ensures reliable service."
