International consulting engineering company ByrneLooby plans to double the number of employees in its Bahrain office over the next two years.
The news follows the company's success in being awarded a number of projects in the Middle East in the past year.
Significant recent projects include the design of the Jubail Industrial City community beaches in KSA and the design of quay walls in the Dubai Maritime City. Environmental projects range from baseline marine ecological surveys to improving the marine habitat on the north coast of Diyar al Muharraq.
The ByrneLooby environmental team is also overseeing the environmental aspect of maintenance dredging and the waterfront development scheme in Abu Dhabi.
"We have developed a strong reputation in Europe for designing value-driven solutions to complex projects, and we aim to continue building on this success," Michael Looby, joint managing director of ByrneLooby, said. "It's great to see an Irish company achieve success internationally, and we look forward to continuing to grow and work in Bahrain and the Middle East."
ByrneLooby entered the Middle East market in 2009 with ventures in Saudi Arabia.
The company has worked on a large number of key projects in the U.K., as well, such as the London Shard, Cross Rail project and Heathrow Terminal.
