The Sultanate of Oman recently began hosting wedding planners as well as event organizers from India in order to help visitors better plan their tourist activities in the Sultanate.

The wedding planners are visiting the area to collaborate with Sultanate leaders and suppliers who work in the wedding industry. The goal is to strengthen the cooperation between the two nations in this industry. They hope to support the Sultanate as an events and wedding destination.

While visiting, the group from India will tour several venues, including several hotel resorts: Anantara in Al Jabel Al Akhdar, Alila Jabel Akhdar, Millinium Resort, The Grand Hyatt Muscat, the Shangri-La Resort, Al Nahda Resort, Bustan Palace, Oman Avenues Mall, and The Indus restaurant.

“This exhibition is a great start for the Oman Convention Bureau to attract this kind of tourism to the Sultanate,” Khalid Al Zadjali, Oman Convention Bureau’s Manager, said. “We aim to bring more events like this in order to establish the Sultanate as the premier destination in the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) sector.”

Travel Point has planned the activities. All of the resorts and hotels will offer meals, accommodations, and experiential visits for the tourists. Oman Air has even made its own donation to the collaboration by offering the group business class airfare tickets.

“We are actively working to promote the Sultanate as a unique destination for all meetings and exhibitions, and we aim to host global events in the future,” Asma Salim Al Hajri, Deputy Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Tourism, said.
