Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai (MEHD) was recently honored as the International Eye Clinic of the Year at the 2016 International Medical Travel Journal (IMTJ) Medical Travel Awards.
The international medical tourism award recognizes eye clinics that achieve great success in attracting international patients.
MEHD, the first overseas branch of the London-based Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, has treated more than 100,000 patients across more than 180 countries. These countries include those in the regions of the Middle East and the United Arab Emirates.
MEHD offers a wide range of eye care-related services, including regular eye checkups and complex eye surgeries.
"The Moorfields team in Dubai was thrilled to win this prestigious international award," Maha Aboughali, business development and marketing director at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, said. "It is our latest international award success and a testament to the hard work we have put in since we opened the hospital in Dubai in 2007, which includes supporting Dubai's health care tourism objectives."
MEHD is located at the Al Razi Medical Complex in Dubai Health Care City.
