Abu Dhabi University celebrates international accreditation

Abu Dhabi University held a celebration ceremony after receiving institutional recognition and international academic accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges: Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).

The ceremony was held with support from Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler’s representative in the Western Region and president of Abu Dhabi University’s Board of Regents. Also in attendance was Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. More than 75 of the university’s partners from a variety of sectors were recognized at the ceremony in addition to  federal authorities and public and private sector community organizations..  

University Executive Board Chairman Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri highlighted that this accomplishment by Abu Dhabi University speaks to the facility’s quality, international prestige and strong standing in the academic world.

“This leadership translates through from the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan president of the UAE, and H.H Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahayan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy commander of the Armed Forces, and their brothers Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates,” Al Dhaheri said. “Their wise vision and patronage of the cultural renaissance of the United Arab Emirates enhanced a system of creativity and excellence in various fields of development, and particularly in education.”

The chairman stressed that the university’s accomplishments were only possible through the strategic plan and foresight of  Al Nahyan.

“Abu Dhabi University has transformed into a beacon of national creativity in teaching, scientific research and community service; a national university recognized globally for implementing the best practices global in the enrichment and development of students, while upholding its commitments to its cultural heritage and accepting the era’s ever-changing technological developments,” Al Dhaheri said. “However, our success in receiving international academic accreditation from WSCUC is not only a source of pride but it also comes with a responsibility that falls on the shoulders of faculty, staff, students and our stakeholders to ensure that the university continue to succeed and prosper locally, regionally and internationally.”
