Omantel launches Android set-top box designed for sports, entertainment

Omantel, the top telecom provider in Oman, recently said it is launching its new Humax H1, an Android set-top box designed for sports enthusiasts to gain access to entertainment bundles of ICFLIX, Starz Play, OSN GO, beIN Sports, Mavshack, YouTube and Kids content.

The box will stream movies, live sports and series using a smart Over The Top (OTT) device, offering audiences easy access to these shows through any tablet, smart phone, TV screen, or PC.

“The Humax H1 is yet another addition to the various entertainment options that we offer to our customers,” Saleh Al Maimani, senior manager of product development at Omantel's Consumer Business Unit, said. “We are excited for enabling the customers to explore the world of features that this service brings. The set-top-box bundled with content rich offer is the first-of-its-kind in Oman and provides an unmatched experience for live and on-demand entertainment. Humax H1 will change how we view content here in the sultanate, it literally brings a world of entertainment straight to your home at the touch of a button.”

To launch the new product, Omantel is offering a limited-time bundle to new subscribers. This feature is for one month of free access to OSN GO, Starz Play and MavShack in addition to 12 months of free access to ICFLIX.
