The United Arab Emirates Ministry of the Economy recently hosted a suhoor in celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Day, organizing the event with the Securities and Commodities Authority, the General Civil Aviation Authority and the Insurance Authority.
Zayed Humanitarian Day commemorates the death of Sheik bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a driving figure in the creation of the UAE, on the 19th day of Ramadan.
"We celebrate Zayed Humanitarian Da, by looking up to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan as our example,” Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi, acting CEO of the Securities and Commodities Authority, said. “We reminisce about his good deeds and take pride in the unique model that has laid the foundation for the UAE's prosperity and progress."
Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri noted the UAE’s global humanitarian efforts, stating that the country is
consistently one of the earth’s top foreign aid donors. It regularly offers
assistance to foreign countries regardless of language, religion and color.
Al Mansouri urged those in attendance at the event to make a contribution to public happiness through the provision of high-quality services and the establishment of an enhanced work ethic that supports government policies.
