The University of Nizwa recently announced that its Computer Science Section (CSS), Department of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (DMPS) and College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) have successfully finished the process of renewing the IEEE Student Branch of Nizwa University.
With this process completed, the students from these colleges will become part of the largest technical and professional society in the world. The IEEE Student Branch of Nizwa contains a combination of student and professional members from the CSS, Information Systems Department and Electrical & Computer Engineering Department.
So far, 35 students and six professionals have gained membership, with Hanan Mahdi from the CSS acting as IEEE branch counselor. The branch provides its members with access to learning opportunities with fellow students, faculty members and professionals in the fields of computer science, engineering and information technology.
Although the IEEE Student Branch is most represented by CSS, the Department of Mathematics and Physics and the College of Arts and Sciences, membership is open to all graduate and undergraduate students of the university.
