Qatar Airways Cargo launches new freight services to New York, Canada

Qatar Airways Cargo recently expanded its cargo route offerings with new flights to New York and Halifax, Canada.

The flights will use a Boeing 777-200 and take off once a week from its European hub in Luxembourg. The routes will be able to transport up to 113 tones of cargo, including lobster and seafood exports, throughout the Middle East, Europe, and south and northeast Asia.

"We are very happy to add New York and Halifax to our growing list of new freighter routes," Qatar Airways Chief Officer Cargo Ulrich Ogiermann said. "From their strategic geographical positions, not only will the new service provide our customers with great access to the Americas’ marketplace, it will allow us to share one of region’s most sumptuous exports with the world."

The cargo service to New York will increase the current belly-hold cargo on the airline's double-daily passenger flights to JFK Airport. For Canada, not only will the cargo service expand the airline's presence in the country but will also create cargo operation jobs.

Qatar Airways Cargo features a network of over 50 cargo routes that provides freight to more than 150 business and leisure destinations across the globe.
