The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently announced plans for the Global Business Forum on Latin America, which will take place at Atlantis the Palm Hotel in Dubai Nov. 9-10, under the theme of “Shifting Energies” and under the patronage of Mohammed Al Maktoum, prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.
The forum seeks to provide a platform where the two regions can channel efforts to create integrated and supportive business ideas. Attendees -- presidents, ministers and international experts -- will discuss investment prospects within competitive sectors.
Hamad Buamim, president and CEO of Dubai Chamber, noted that the forum should help the chamber expand into overseas markets. Buamim also emphasized those markets’ enormous potential in fields such as infrastructure, renewable energy, tourism and agriculture.
“The openness to Latin American markets falls in line with the UAE’s keenness to strengthen its relations in the fields of trade, economy and investment with Latin American countries,” he said. “The visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to a number of Latin American countries in 2014 was very important to the development of bilateral relations between the two parties.”
