The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority recently named Haitham Al-Salama to its newly created position of chief economic adviser.
Al-Salama will work with in the QFC Authority's CEO's office and be responsible for developing business and financial economic strategy for the QFC, a platform that allows firms to capitalize on opportunities in Qatar and the wider region.
"I am honored to be given this opportunity to contribute to my country and the QFC's work in facilitating the success of businesses expanding into the region," Al-Salama said. "I very much look forward to joining the CEO's team on the next stage of the QFC's journey."
Al-Salama has spent more than a decade working in governmental and nonprofit organizations, where he held policy and management positions. He most recently was the director of science policy and management at the Sidra Medical and Research Center.
"The QFC has once again attracted top Qatari talent due to its excellent reputation within Qatar's business community," QFC Authority CEO Yousuf Mohamed Al-Jaida said. "People are our most valuable asset in diversifying the economy and developing the private sector in Qatar, and I am delighted to welcome Haitham to the QFC family.
