Co-Chairperson of the Saudi-Japanese Business Council Tariq
Al Qahtani will lead a delegation of Saudi businesspersons to Japan on August
31, 2016. The delegation will meet with Japanese officials to discuss
opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Al Qahtani stated that the visit supports Saudi Vision 2030,
serves mutual interests between the two counties, and will help develop
programs and initiatives that pave the way toward diversification and
sustainable economic development.
Al Qahtani also noted Japan’s significant position in the
global economy and how that has turned into $31 billion in trade in 2015
between the two countries. Japan is now Saudi Arabia’s second largest trade
partner in exports and fourth largest trade partner in imports.
Commending the special relationship between Japan and Saudi
Arabia, Al Qahtani expressed hope for a bright future of investment and trade cooperation.
