Saudi delegation discusses trade relations on Japan trip

Co-Chairperson of the Saudi-Japanese Business Council Tariq Al Qahtani will lead a delegation of Saudi businesspersons to Japan on August 31, 2016. The delegation will meet with Japanese officials to discuss opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Al Qahtani stated that the visit supports Saudi Vision 2030, serves mutual interests between the two counties, and will help develop programs and initiatives that pave the way toward diversification and sustainable economic development.

Al Qahtani also noted Japan’s significant position in the global economy and how that has turned into $31 billion in trade in 2015 between the two countries. Japan is now Saudi Arabia’s second largest trade partner in exports and fourth largest trade partner in imports.

Commending the special relationship between Japan and Saudi Arabia, Al Qahtani expressed hope for a bright future of investment and trade cooperation.
