Teacher trainees get advice, congratulations at women's college

HCT-Al Women’s College’s (AAWC) Bachelor of Education program marked the beginning of the new year with a gathering of more than 100 trainee teachers. The special assembly was held at the college Aug. 31, and was attended by Hamsa Saleh Al Ammari, AAWC Director and Dr. Phil Quirke, executive dean of education and general studies.
Ammari welcomed the education students and noted the positive reputation that comes with being a part of Al Ain schools and reminded them to strive for success in the coming year.
Each of the teachers in training will intern in Al Ain ADEC and private schools over the next several weeks, so the students reviewed teaching class policies at the assembly.
The college hosted a Foundations program assembly Sept. 7 to congratulate students on choosing the one-year Foundations intensive program and welcome them to HCT.
During the opening speech from Hamsa Saleh Al Ammari, students were given advice on how to make the most of the approaching academic year. Al Ammari encouraged students to study diligently, stay clear-headed and focused, set goals and practice time management.
The students were also advised to take advantage of all opportunities to learn, especially in subjects they are unfamiliar, by Dean of Foundations Rami Hamdan.
In closing, AAWC management, wished the students the best of luck with the academic year and thanked the faculty for their support in educating students in a professional way and helping the students meet their goals.
