Etihad Airways sponsored Zurich Film Festival's Audience Award

Etihad Airways sponsored the Audience Award at the 2016 Zurich Film Festival.

The award is given to the best film as determined by votes from festival attendees.

It was awarded to When Two Worlds Collide, directed by Heidi Brandenburg and Mathew Orzel.

The airline provided the winning film's directors with two Business Class return-flights to Abu Dhabi and three nights in a 5-star hotel.

"We are excited to continue our partnership with one of the most prestigious cultural events in Switzerland," Etihad Airways CEO Peter Baumgartner said. "The sponsorship underscores our active support of global cultural events, engagement in the local communities we serve and it reinforces our long-term commitment to the Swiss market."

Etihad Airways has served the Swiss market since 2004. In addition to daily flights, Etihad Airways offers its customers travel to Geneva and Zurich through domestic and regional European services of its partner airlines.

"We are very proud of our partnership with Etihad Airways, which helps us reach audiences worldwide," Zurich Film Festival Co-Directors Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri said. "This partnership has proven to be a great fit as the Zurich Film Festival and Etihad Airways share a vision of bringing people together from across the globe through arts and culture."
