Thuraya Telecommunications Company, a mobile service provider
satellite (MSS) with operations in the EMEA market, has announced plans for
next-generation constellation, which will provide a multidimensional expansion and diversification program.
The firm plans to conduct a massive transformation on its
L-band network and enhance its satellite coverage area with the launch of
next-generation satellites by 2020.

become(s) the preferred provider for unified connectivity, providing a full
program of expansion and diversification unmatched -- and no new-generation L-band restrictions and supplementary services HTS services are the basis on
which we will seek to promote innovation, drastic changes and redefinitions,” Samer
Halawi, CEO of Thuraya, said. “Our
portfolio transforms Thuraya into a complete supplier for L-band, HTS, IoT and
GSM. We now have access to new markets, and new technological resources provide
a unique portfolio services, applications and mobile products.”
Thuraya has
spent the last six years significantly turning around business performance -- overcoming limited coverage of obstacles, legacy issues and a market with many
challenges. The company will use this as a base for future positioning.
