Etihad Airways Medical Center recently held its annual
Aviation Health Conference, titled “Ophthalmology and Color Vision in
Aviation,” which was attended by more than 120 medical professionals and international medical
experts.
“Etihad Airways Medical Center organizes annual aviation
health conferences to encourage collaboration among aviation medicine
practitioners and health industry stakeholders both in the region and
internationally,” Dr. Nadia Bastaki, Etihad Airways vice president medical services and senior aviation medical examiner, said.
Dr. Ansa Jordaan, chief of the aviation medicine section at
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), was the guest speaker at the
event. She talked about the need for color vision assessments, noting that it
was a high priority matter and that the aviation industry needed to create a
standardized assessment for color vision around the world.
Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, United Eastern Medical Services CEO, praised Etihad Airways for focusing on
ophthalmological health.
“Through
Moorfields Eye Hospital Center Abu Dhabi, we are pleased to participate in this
important medical event in the field of aviation medicine, in collaboration
with Etihad Airways Medical Center,” Al Hammadi said. “We continue to provide
full support and cooperation to the industry.”
