Oman National Transport
Company (MWASALAT) will host the seventh UITP MENA Assembly and Training days
in Muscat, Oman, Feb. 12-16, 2017.
The gathering will focus on the
latest developments in public transportation, as well as the new vision of
public transport plan of the Sultanate.
Attendees at the event will
get together and discuss business opportunities through meetings with decision
makers. For its part, MWASALAT will present future plans for city
transportation, construction of public transport facilities and the
implementation of intelligent transport systems.
“We are
determined that this conference will not be a traditional one, but a conference
that focuses on the implementation of the vision of public transport in Oman
and the region, combining private sectors, governments, technologists and
global investors to set up a team to develop the public transportation sector
for a new beginning,” Ahmad Al Bulushi, CEO of MWASALAT, said.
The United International
Public Transport for Middle East and North Africa (UITP MENA) covers a broad
region from Morocco to Iran. MWASALAT has been a member of UITP since 1983 and
is Oman’s largest public transport company.
