The Bahrain Institute of
Banking and Finance (BIBF) recently finished a seminar that provided the
management team of the Bahrain Islamic Bank (BISB) with a two-day master class
on corporate governance.
“BIBF conducts these
programs regularly, consistent with the requirements of the Corporate
Governance Code of Bahrain, which has laid special impetus on the role of the
management team of BISB in promoting good governance across the organization,” BIBF Director Solveig Nicklos said. “We are pleased to have had the
opportunity to run this for the financial services sector in the kingdom of
Bahrain.”
Hassan Jarrar, CEO of
BISB, attended the event. The program delivered BISB’s senior executives with
the global best practices for corporate governance, with a specific focus on strategy
and risk management.
“We are
delighted with the positive feedback that we have received from the senior
management team of BISB, who attended this two-day program on corporate governance with a special focus on strategy and risk management,” Deen
Jayah, head of the BIBF’s Banking Center, said.
Leading the seminar was Seamus Gillen, a leading board advisor for BIBF. He has conducted similar
workshops with companies in the U.K., the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Hong Kong, China,
India, Malaysia, South Africa and the Baltic States.
