The World Summit
on Innovation and Education (WISE) recently announced the winners of the 2016
WISE Awards.
The WISE Summit was established in 2009 by the Qatar
Foundation, which is chaired by Moza bint Nasser.
The WISE Awards reward
effective, innovative devices in the field of education. Every year, WISE
Awards partners come together to vote on project winners. Winners receive a
$20,000 grant and are highlighted at the summit and in WISE communications and
publications.
“This is the fourth year that Parthenon-EY is working with WISE, and
it is always a fascinating adventure,” Ashwin Assomull, director general of partner organization Parthenon-EY, said. “Our team performs the evaluation of the finalists in
the field based on parameters that are WISE impact, innovation and growth
capacity. We produce detailed reports for jury WISE, which makes the
decision.”
The
winners of the 2016 WISE Awards are Tara Akshar Literacy from India; Education
for Growth and Value Creation (Education for growth and value creation) from
Lebanon; JUMP Math from Canada; Geekie – “personalized learning for all” from
Brazil; and Little Ripples from the United States.
